CAPITALISM IN THE PUBLIC REALM – GGM HOLDINGS – An activistic platform utilizing the speculative NFT market and its mechanisms.
GOLD GUIDES ME HOLDINGS / GGM HOLDINGS is a fake holdings company created by artist Anne Katrine Senstad for the purpose of displaying and producing critical media, technology and not-for-sale text based minted NFT’s on GGM Holdings Opensea platform and Instagram page. This form of activist publishing is a medium to display anti arms-industry, anti warfare, and observations on oligarch and plutocrat philosophies and enterprises as statements, as well as utilize Senstad’s finance world Capitalism in the Public Realm text based neon statements in video format, made available to a wider audience, and as a form of direct activism through placement on the speculative market arena.
GGM HOLDINGS was first established while at an artist residency in the UAE in 2014 and as part of the initial research for Gold Guides Me – Capitalism in the Public Realm, produced in 2015. The motivational byline for GGM holdings reflects a generalized wholesale of art as both commodity and currency, the corporatization and colonization of the artistic domain and agency, questioning new formats of art ownership, advocacy and production.
